Boasting is not for God's People

People who boast about themselves are probably not what they think they are in reality. Those who are strong need not boast.

There is a difference in sharing a joy the Lord has brought and boasting about one's own accomplishments.

"A joy shared is twice a joy, A trial shared is half a trial."

Proverbs 17:22
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
"11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing."

You know a true friend, they are someone who loves to rejoice with you and will weep with you when things are difficult. They will never judge your experiences as silly or unworthy of response.

A kind person loves to engage in your experiences with you. A narcissist is a person who loves to see you fail, even claiming you failed when you did not.  Remember who is whom and choose your friends wisely.

Those who wish to dominate you are not your friends. True friends will tell the truth all the time but will not gain pleasure in competitiveness with you. True friends receive a correction as a chance to evaluate themselves, they do not fight, argue or punish those who love them enough to tell the truth.

2 Corinthians 10:12-13 "12We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they show their ignorance. 13We, however, will not boast beyond our limits, but only within the field of influence that God has assigned to us—a field that reaches even to you.…"
