If the purpose of a gift is to "heap hot coals of kindness" on a person to make them feel guilty about something, or to manipulate them into doing something for you, then these acts of kindness are nothing more than a attempt to manage others, and do not count with God.
If our acts of kindness out of pure heart happens to convict someone that's up to God, but we are never to be kind just to produce guilt in someone. We are kind because we should be kind. To be kind to manipulate the feelings of someone else is nothing more than a egotistically driven act to be able to elevate self.
James 4:8
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Psalm 73:1
"A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart."
A pure heart is one that is authentic, doing things to bless others not for personal gain.
Hebrews 10:22
"22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
Sincerity is in the heart of every born again believer, nothing is done to elevate self but rather to elevate Christ.
Psalm 24:4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to falsehood, who does not swear deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and vindication from the God of his salvation.…"
Do you want to be blessed of the Lord? Seek Him in all you do, do all to the glory of God and for the well being of others and He will bless.
