Divorcing is to Deny the Purpose and Word of God

God commanded that a couple not divorce but if they do they are to remain single until they can be reconciled. Christ clearly stated that to remarry after a divorce is to be committing an ongoing state of adultery.

It is a command of God to be reconciled if possible. There is a video called "Before the Wrath" that shows the Jewish wedding and how it relates to the born again believer and Christ's relationship.

There is no severing of the marriage relationships until death. No man can undo what God did.

And there is no severing of the relationship of a believer and Christ after they have been made into a new creation, old things have passed away and all things have become new. Our spirit, when born again, is replaced with the Holy Spirit. God intended for the marriage covenant to be a picture of the relationship between Christ and His church.

People become confused because of what they see happening between couples but if they looked at scripture there is no confusion. They also become confused because they are looking at friends and family and what they want rather than to Christ. Marrying a divorced person is adultery and remains adultery until they confess that sin and separate.

Ephesians 1:13-14
"13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."

God seals the marriage relationship when the couple promises to remain with one another. That promise creates a spiritual bond by God, even if the couple is not born again. Otherwise, the divorce and remarriage of unbelievers would not be called sin.

All unbelievers are in their sin and on their way to hell because of that sin. It is only when they trust in Christ that they will be saved from hell and given the Holy Spirit to be able to walk in righteousness. Then the Holy Spirit will continue to sanctify the new believer with lessons, promptings, and understandings that they never had before they were born again.

The sad thing is that so many people are trusting in their own minds to figure things out instead of in Christ and His Holy Word. They even use the scriptures to interpret them according to their own human thinking rather than what God actually said, this is far too common.

2 Timothy 4:3-4
"3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths."
