Confessing and Professing!

Romans 10:9-8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth, you confess and are saved."
Notice God said that when the word of God is in you, you will confess with your mouth and your heart has been changed into a completely new person.
What is in our hearts will be seen in our attitudes and actions, confession is what comes out of the mouth and the actions and attitudes prove the confession is real.
So many people think all we have to do is "say" something making them a Christian, but in reality, the "confessing with our mouth" if real is followed by a changed way of thinking entirely.
The way we think determines how we act. We can fool people for a while but eventually, the real us will emerge proving we are authentic or proving we are pretenders. Our lifestyles will not be different from our heart condition.
We confess with our mouths and after salvation, our life confesses to the world that we are completely changed.
Ephesians 2:10 says: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."
If our lifestyle and attitudes are consistently against God's Word, through disbelieving any part of it, then it testifies we do not really believe. If our beliefs about the Bible are based on what men think are in error then we do not really believe in Christ.
Our beliefs must be based on the Bible and the training from the Holy Spirit, not on another man's opinions about the Bible.
Jeremiah 17:5
"Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord."
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
If you do not know what it is like to hear from the Holy Spirit and you believe you are saved, pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you, guide you and show Himself to you as you walk your path as a Christian.
