When Christ Makes Two People One

When Christ makes two people one in marriage it can not be undone by man. It is a spiritual matter and is the same for the unsaved as it is for the saved. God joins all those who vow to one another in a spiritual union.
No man can break the marriage bond, only death does that.
Matthew 19:6: "What therefore God hath joined together, no man can put asunder" (Yes, I changed the English words because the original language is quite clear that no one can undo a marriage.
1 Corinthians 7:39: "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives."
1 Corinthians 7:40: "If her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord."
Marriage is not only a commitment for life by those involved, it is a joining of two spirits that divorce cannot separate.
Romans 7:2–3: Paul states that a married woman is bound to her husband by law while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage.
Jesus Christ said this, and I believe Him:
Luke 16:18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another is commiting adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery."
Remarrying after divorce by the law of the land is an ongoing state of adultery until one forsakes that relationship and either remains alone or is reconciled to their husband.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11 "…10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife."
Which part of this does someone not understand?
One of the devastating actions to damaging the witness of the church is divorce and remarriage. It sends the wrong message that Christ gives up on us because of sin. It makes people believe that Christ would leave us if we were not perfect enough. After all, marriage is a picture of Christ and His church.
Christ is Perfect but the church is not, we bear with one another as we move through life with our flaws helping one another to overcome the arrows of the devil and his minions.
Hebrews 14:4-6 "4 Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”…"
If anyone comes to you to influence you against your husband or your husband against you they must be removed, avoid them so that they cannot meddle in your marriage. I have seen more marriages ruined by family interference than any other problem.
Loving godly people will want to see us succeed in our marriage according to God's standards. I would advise anyone who keeps company with those who indorse divorce and remarriage to sever that relationship, it can influence you or your spouse when things get rough.
Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
God never leaves or forsakes us because of sin and we should never leave or forsake our spouse because of sin.
Psalm 37:25
"I once was young and now am old, yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread."
We cannot stop a spouse from leaving but we can remain faithful to the marriage even if they are not.
Psalm 118:6
"The LORD is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
Matthew 28:20
"and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Romans 8:31
"What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
We will lose friends and family for speaking the truth, it is how we find out who loves Christ and who does not. Those who choose Christ and love His Word are our brothers and sisters for eternity, they are our friends.
Hallelujah!!!
